Frequently Asked Questions
Will this remove numbers that are part of a word, like "COVID19"?+−
Yes. This tool strips every digit character regardless of what surrounds it, so "COVID19" becomes "COVID" and "Q3" becomes "Q". It doesn't try to detect whether a number is standalone or embedded in a word.
Does it affect dates or phone numbers in my text?+−
Yes — the digits get removed, but the surrounding punctuation stays. "10/05/2024" becomes "//" and "(555) 123-4567" becomes "() -". If you need dates or phone numbers preserved, pull them out of the text before running it through this tool.
Can I remove numbers but keep currency symbols like $ or %?+−
Yes. This tool only removes the digits 0–9, so symbols like $, %, #, and currency codes are left in place — "$100" becomes "$" and "50%" becomes "%". Turn on "Clean up extra spaces" to avoid an awkward gap where the number used to be.
